Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (the "Terms") are a legal agreement between you and Link Software LLC ("we", "us", "our") covering your use of the meepz mobile app and the related services at meepz.app (together, "meepz" or the "Service"). These Terms are also the end user license agreement ("EULA") for the meepz app.

By creating an account or using meepz, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use meepz.

1. Who Can Use meepz

You must be at least 13 years old, or 16 if you live in the EU/EEA, to create an account. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use meepz only with the permission of a parent or legal guardian, who agrees to these Terms on your behalf. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure and for all activity on your account.

2. License to Use the App

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download, install and use the meepz app on devices that you own or control, for your personal, non-commercial use. On Apple devices, this license is also limited to use as permitted by the Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions. You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, decompile, rent, lease, sell, sublicense or redistribute the app, except as the law expressly allows despite this restriction.

3. Your Content

"Your Content" means anything you add to meepz, including your display name, handle, bio, avatar, the names of guest players you create, play records, scores, play notes and play photos, and the profile and share cards built from them.

You keep ownership of Your Content. You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, copy, process and display Your Content only as needed to operate and improve meepz — for example, showing your profile to other users and showing a play's notes and photos to the other participants of that play. This license ends when Your Content is deleted from meepz, except for copies we must keep to comply with the law or to handle a report or dispute.

You are responsible for Your Content. You confirm that you have the rights to everything you upload, including the consent of people who appear in your photos.

4. Acceptable Use and Objectionable Content

meepz has zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. You agree not to post, upload or share any content, or behave in any way, that:

harasses, bullies, threatens, intimidates or stalks anyone;
is hateful or discriminatory, or attacks people based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age or any other protected characteristic;
is sexually explicit or pornographic, or sexualizes minors in any way;
depicts, promotes or threatens violence, self-harm or illegal activity;
is defamatory, obscene, profane or otherwise objectionable;
impersonates any person or organization, or misrepresents your identity;
is spam, advertising, a scam or a malicious link;
shares someone else's private information, or photos of people without their consent;
infringes anyone's copyright, trademark, privacy or other rights.

This applies everywhere content appears in meepz: display names, handles, bios, avatars, guest player names, play notes, play photos and shared profiles.

You also agree not to misuse the Service, including by attempting to access other users' accounts or data, interfering with or overloading the Service, scraping it, circumventing blocks, usage limits or subscription checks, or using it for any unlawful purpose.

meepz automatically screens display names, handles, bios, guest player names and play notes for prohibited language and may reject them. Automatic screening is not perfect, which is why reporting matters.

5. Reporting, Blocking and Enforcement

Reporting. You can report another user from their profile, or report a player or a photo from a play you took part in. Choose a reason (such as harassment, hate speech, sexual content, spam, impersonation or violence) and add details if you like. You can also report any content or behavior by emailing support@meepz.app.

Blocking. You can block any user from their profile, or when you report them. Blocking ends any friendship between you, stops friend requests between you, and stops the blocked user from seeing your profile or finding you in search. You can review and undo blocks under Settings > Blocked users.

Notice and action. To report content that is illegal or breaks these Terms, use the in-app report option described above or email support@meepz.app. Tell us what the content is and where you found it. Where the law requires it, we will tell you what we decided and why, and we will explain our decision to the person whose content or account we act on.

Our commitment. We review every report. We act on reports promptly, and normally within 24 hours: we remove content that violates these Terms and eject the user who provided it by suspending or terminating their account. Depending on the severity, we may also issue a warning, remove content without notice, or report illegal content to the authorities. We may also act on violations we find ourselves, without a report.

6. Account Termination

You may stop using meepz at any time, and you can delete your account from within the app. Deleting your account permanently deletes your profile and associated data as described in our Privacy Policy. Deleting your account does not cancel a paid subscription — see Section 7.

We may suspend or terminate your account, and remove Your Content, if you violate these Terms (including Section 4), if required by law, or if your use creates risk or harm for other users or for us. Where appropriate and lawful, we will tell you why. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including the disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnity and governing law) survive it.

7. meepz Pro Subscriptions

Free trial. New accounts get a free trial of meepz Pro that requires no payment details. The trial length is shown in the app. We may occasionally offer a trial extension (for example, for completing a feedback survey). When the trial ends, your account returns to the free plan and nothing is charged.

Paid plans. meepz Pro is an auto-renewing subscription, offered as a monthly or a yearly plan and purchased through the Apple App Store or Google Play. Prices are shown in the app before you buy. Payment is charged to your App Store or Google Play account when you confirm the purchase. Your subscription renews automatically for the same period unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and your account is charged for the renewal within the 24 hours before the current period ends.

Managing and cancelling. You can manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple or Google account settings. Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep Pro until the end of the period you have paid for. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their own policies — we cannot issue refunds for store purchases.

Billing provider. We use RevenueCat to manage subscriptions. We receive your subscription status, plan, store and renewal date, but never your payment details.

Free plan limits. Some features are limited or unavailable on the free plan, as shown in the app. We may change which features are included in Pro or the free plan. A price change for a paid plan takes effect only at a renewal, after any notice and consent the app store requires.

8. AI Shelf Scan Import

The shelf scan feature uses automated image recognition (AI) to suggest games from a photo of your shelf. This feature is experimental and may be inaccurate: it can miss games, misidentify them or match the wrong edition. Suggestions are added to your collection only after you review and approve them. Scans are subject to the allowance shown in the app, and a scan counts toward that allowance even if it fails or is cancelled. Photos you upload for a scan are handled as described in our Privacy Policy.

9. BoardGameGeek Data

Game information in meepz — such as game names, images, player counts and play times — comes from BoardGameGeek (BGG) via the BGG XML API. If you import your collection from BoardGameGeek, we read the collection of the BGG username you enter. meepz is not affiliated with or endorsed by BoardGameGeek. BGG data and images belong to BoardGameGeek and their respective owners and are used under BGG's terms of use; we do not guarantee that this data is complete or accurate. The BoardGameGeek logo and attribution are shown at the bottom of the Settings screen in the app.

10. Intellectual Property

meepz, including the app, its design, software, text, graphics, logos and the meepz name, is owned by Link Software LLC or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not give you any rights to our trademarks or branding. Game names, artwork and trademarks belong to their respective publishers and owners; their appearance in meepz does not imply endorsement.

If you believe content in meepz infringes your copyright or other rights, email support@meepz.app with a description of the work, where it appears in meepz, and your contact details. We will review the notice and remove infringing content where appropriate.

If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them without any obligation to you.

11. Third-Party Services

meepz relies on third-party services, including Apple, Google, Firebase (for sign-in), RevenueCat and BoardGameGeek. Your use of those services may be subject to their own terms and privacy policies. You must comply with any applicable third-party terms when using meepz, such as your app store's terms and your wireless data plan.

12. Disclaimer of Warranties

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, MEEPZ IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that meepz will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure, that game data, scores, statistics or scan results will be accurate, or that content will never be lost. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so some of these exclusions may not apply to you.

13. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LINK SOFTWARE AND ITS OWNERS, EMPLOYEES AND SUPPLIERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, REVENUE OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO USE) MEEPZ OR ANY CONTENT ON IT, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO MEEPZ IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR MEEPZ PRO IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE, OR (B) US$50. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations, so they may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including applicable consumer law (for example, liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for intentional or grossly negligent conduct), and your statutory consumer rights are not affected.

14. Indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Link Software LLC from claims, losses and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from Your Content or from your violation of these Terms or of anyone's rights.

15. Apple App Store Terms

If you downloaded meepz from the Apple App Store, the following also applies:

Acknowledgement. These Terms are between you and Link Software LLC only, not with Apple Inc. ("Apple"). Link Software LLC, not Apple, is solely responsible for the meepz app and its content.
Scope of license. The license in Section 2 is limited to a non-transferable license to use the app on any Apple-branded products that you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions, except that the app may be accessed and used by other accounts associated with you via Family Sharing or volume purchasing.
Maintenance and support. Link Software LLC is solely responsible for providing any maintenance and support for the app. Apple has no obligation whatsoever to furnish any maintenance or support services for the app.
Warranty. Link Software LLC is solely responsible for any product warranties, whether express or implied by law, to the extent not effectively disclaimed. If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any) for the app to you. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation whatsoever with respect to the app, and any other claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs or expenses attributable to any failure to conform to any warranty are the sole responsibility of Link Software LLC.
Product claims. Link Software LLC, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims by you or any third party relating to the app or your possession and use of it, including (i) product liability claims; (ii) any claim that the app fails to conform to any applicable legal or regulatory requirement; and (iii) claims arising under consumer protection, privacy or similar legislation.
Intellectual property rights. In the event of any third-party claim that the app or your possession and use of it infringes that third party's intellectual property rights, Link Software LLC, not Apple, is solely responsible for the investigation, defense, settlement and discharge of that claim.
Legal compliance. You represent and warrant that (i) you are not located in a country that is subject to a U.S. Government embargo, or that has been designated by the U.S. Government as a "terrorist supporting" country; and (ii) you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
Developer name and address. Questions, complaints or claims about the app should be directed to Link Software LLC, 999 Jacksonian Way, Lenoir City, TN 37772, USA; phone (865) 466-1020; email support@meepz.app.
Third-party terms. You must comply with applicable third-party terms of agreement when using the app.
Third-party beneficiary. Apple and Apple's subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms, and upon your acceptance of these Terms, Apple will have the right (and will be deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce these Terms against you as a third-party beneficiary.

If you downloaded meepz from Google Play, your use is also subject to the Google Play Terms of Service. Google is not a party to these Terms and is not responsible for the app.

16. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising from these Terms or meepz will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in the State of Tennessee, and you and we consent to their jurisdiction — except where the law of the country you live in gives you the right to bring proceedings in your local courts or to rely on mandatory consumer protections there.

17. EU, EEA and UK Consumers

If you are a consumer living in the European Union, the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you keep the mandatory consumer-protection and other rights that the law of your country of residence gives you. Nothing in these Terms removes those rights, and the Tennessee governing-law and venue clause in Section 16 does not deprive you of them. Where the law requires it, you may bring a claim in the courts of the country where you live.

Subscriptions are purchased through Apple or Google. Apple or Google handles billing, VAT or other applicable taxes, and any statutory right of withdrawal under their own terms. We do not add separate withdrawal terms to these Terms.

18. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date above, and for material changes we will take reasonable steps to let you know before they take effect, for example through the app. If you keep using meepz after the changes take effect, you accept the updated Terms. If you do not agree, stop using meepz and delete your account.

19. General

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us about meepz. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remain in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms; we may transfer ours in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.
